Letters from the Coaches

SWSC athletes and parents,
Welcome Sunny Willow swimmers and divers to the 2010 summer season. I am so excited to see all of our returning athletes (the 2009 champs) as well as so many new faces. Once again we have a team bursting with potential and I can see in our future a season filled with great performances and more importantly…FUN! This year will be especially exciting as we enter the Colonial Swim League with a great opportunity for new competition and new friends.
In addition to our practices and swim meets, there are exciting swim team activities throughout the season. I encourage you to participate in these activities so that you can have fun with your teammates outside of the pool and make this season the best is can be.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or the assistant coaches with any questions or concerns. We want to make this a rewarding season for you but although we are amazing coaches, we can’t read minds! Communicate with us (both athletes and parents) so we can work hard to continue building a very positive Sunny Willow swim team atmosphere. Don’t forget to check the team bulletin board at the pool that will display announcements, special awards, and results from each meet. There will also be a list posted on the swim team bulletin board where you can indicate any swim meets you will miss throughout the season.
Thank you for joining us this year. I’m looking forward to a successful, fun, and rewarding season. Go gators!

Welcome all divers and their parents to the 2010 Sunny Willow diving team!
Steve Cohen and I are excited for the return of last year’s divers, and look forward to having new individuals, either experienced or inexperienced , to join our club and build on Sunny Willow’s winning tradition. The 2010 season should be an especially exciting and challenging one as we enter into the Colonial Swim League. Steve and I realize the diving team will face new and possibly increased competition, but are committed to building on our history of success.
In previous years the parents of divers have played a large part in the success of our team. We are once again calling on the parents to help us succeed through encouragement, motivation and participation. We are always in need of diving judges and diving scorers, and would appreciate if you would consider filling one of these roles during the swim meets. I would encourage you to attend the diving judges’ clinic for the Colonial League (see back page for details) even if you have judged before.
Please feel free to contact me at any time for any reason if you have questions or concerns. We are always open to the ideas of our divers and their parents, and welcome any questions you may have.
Coach Cohen and I are excited for the start of the new season, and look forward to another championship year!
Thanks.
