Band Test: All team members 12 & under who have not already done so must pass the “band test” by June 27 (the day of our first swim meet) to continue on the team. This is strictly for the safety of each child. If your child is not able to pass the test, half of the child’s registration fee will be refunded. If you have any questions about this policy, please see Kate McManus or Coach Chris.
Team Refund Policy: We are pretty sure your child will love being a Gator, but if a child must withdraw from participating on the team, please contact Kate McManus for a refund. Refunds as follows: If a swimmer/diver withdrawals pre-season, or during the first 2 weeks of practice (by 6/14/23): full refund; Withdrawals after the first 2 weeks of practice (after 6/14/23), but before the first swim meet: 50% refund; Withdrawals after the first meet (after 6/27/23): no refund
Missing a Swim Meet? If your child will miss a swim meet or Championships, please sign out on the Meet Sign Out Sheets located on the team bulletin board at least 3 days prior to the meet. Failure to sign out of a meet may result in the child being taken out of the next meet. If your child is sick, or will miss unexpectedly within 48 hours prior to the meet, please contact Coach Chris cianni@udsd.org or Coach Abby abbyrizzuto1@gmail.com directly.
Parent Volunteers: It truly takes a village to run a swim meet…and we need your help. Please help us run efficient and smooth swim meets by volunteering for a minimum of 5 jobs throughout the swim season. Click here for a description of the meet jobs. Links to Sign Up Genius and email updates with the open jobs for each meet and further volunteer information will be shared. Thanks for your cooperation! Interested in a new skill? See below about Judges Clinics for Parent Volunteers! If you have questions, contact Amanda Dynan.
Team Area during Swim Meets: At each swim meet we have a designated “Team Area” where we ask every team member to stay throughout the meet. This will promote team unity, keep the kids safe, and make the job of the coaches & team marshals easier preparing the kids for their events. We ask parents to please help make this work by having your children (of all age groups) sit in the Team Area at all times!!
Meet Mobile: This year the Colonial Swim League is pleased to offer all swim and dive results through Meet Mobile. This app is available in both iOS and Android and pushes out event results as they are entered in the computer during the meet. Many of you may already use Meet Mobile, but if you need to download the app, the current cost is $4.49/month or $9.95/year. Please note that all times are not official until the meet is scored, but this can give families easier access to the events their children are swimming. Teams will continue to post events and results as they have in prior years, but this will be another option if you choose to use it!
Team Fundraisers: To keep registration costs down, and provide a fun summer experience for our team, it is necessary to have fundraisers to help defray costs. All proceeds go towards end of year team gifts & awards, and team activities/parties. Please support the Swim & Diving Team throughout the year by participating in these events!
Team Corporate Sponsorship: Do you or someone you know have a local business that would be interested in partnering with the Sunny Willow Gators for the 2023 season? Your business would be supporting our 120+ member team, while having opportunities to promote your business to our club and our community! For more information, please contact Lori Rostron (club manager) at membership@sunnywillow.com.
Personal Best Swim Shop: Support a local swim shop when purchasing your team suit and goggle needs. Fitting/suit purchase June 8 4-6pm.
